I am an Soviet and Russian camera collector residing in State of Illinois, USA. I have only somewhat recently started collecting (since May 2007) these fine examples of Soviet and Russian mechanical engineering and design that until late 80s have been closed off to the rest of the world. Now that these cameras have come to light, I want to share them with all of you. Recently I have decided to start cataloging Soviet and Russian cameras online, thus the USSRPhoto.com project was born, which is a Wiki catalog of Russian and Soviet cameras.

Notes: This camera was engraved on the top plate with the commemorative design for the 50th Anniversary of the 1917 October Bolshevik Revolution. The engraving was filled with red paint (partially missing on this example).

According to Princelle's identification system this camera is model FED 4b and there were 269,008 units produced. Examples with this particular commemorative engraving seem to be rare, probably because there were relatively few FED 4b cameras produced during 1967 (Princelle states that production of the FED 4b was from 1969 - 1976).
