I am an Soviet and Russian camera collector residing in State of Illinois, USA. I have only somewhat recently started collecting (since May 2007) these fine examples of Soviet and Russian mechanical engineering and design that until late 80s have been closed off to the rest of the world. Now that these cameras have come to light, I want to share them with all of you. Recently I have decided to start cataloging Soviet and Russian cameras online, thus the USSRPhoto.com project was born, which is a Wiki catalog of Russian and Soviet cameras.

FED Micron / Mikron Preseries

Vlad's Description
Body Serial #:
Lens Serial #:

Wiki Catalog Entry
This is the FED Mikron Preseries, not to be confused with Prototype which is in separate entry posted by nightphoto (Bill Parkinson). This camera differs slightly. The inscription is now double-stroke vs filled-in on the prototype and the little lever around the lens is green, as well as there is a dot for the aperture indication vs little teardrop shape on the prototype.

Unlike the early version of production model this one still has the word FED on top of the body and the leatherette texture is different from production. Last image compares the Preseries and the early production models.
