The state corporation "Rostech" intends to revive a brand of Zenit cameras. It must be a luxury camera:

What could it be? For the 1.April joke it is too early...

Regards, Alexander

Very true Steve,

Anything labelled as "Lomo" in the UK is a must have for the hipsters, and they will pay for the privilege of parading around with their new addition to their posing gear without understanding the real meaning and history of "LOMO"

Things are not very different here in the Netherlands, though there is a shift towards more expensive gear like Leica. This trend has most likely reached its top now.

...and surely £289 for a Lubitel has to be a joke?? I remember a foray with one of those back in the mid '80's - they were about £25 back then and I had a refund after endless problems with light leaks..

True, although they suprisingly showed up with reproductions of known optics like the Helios and the Jupiter.
Now everyone who is in the Lomo range wants to have a Leica, but what do they want tomorrow?

Let's be clear names...
LOMO is a Russian optic company, located in St. Petersburg. It does not produce a photo equipment (nowadays).
"Lomography Society" is an Austrian company, located in Vienna. They sell a photo equipment, but do not produce it.
LOMO is not equal to "Lomography Society". It sounds similar. One name comes from the other, but you can not mix them.
"Helios" and "Jupiter" are trademarks owned by Krasnogorsky Zavod (KMZ). KMZ is located in Krasnogorsk, Russia and it has nothing to do with LOMO. Krasnogorsky Zavod designs and manufactures lenses for "Lomography Society".

As much as we want it to be true it seems like there is announcement like that every year and nothing happens.

They want to produce luxus cameras like Leica. But quality should be like Leica too, not like FED or Zorki.
