Recently this Zorki 1 was listed for sale locally, serial number suggests that this is Zorki 1D, however I have never seen such strap lugs before. Is this a homemade modification or an unusual factory version?

Very probably, the strap lugs were home made. Interesting, as their position suggests that the balance of the camera could be reversed. It is certainly in connection with the lack of finder...

Very interesting. Rangefinder was removed, so not needed for the previous owner.
