Ahah!
Alain is opening his cavern little by little...
But what's that?
Does that really take pictures?
Flying saucer, frying pan or lens?

Amitiés. Jacques.

hehhe.. that's some fish-eye!

man, 1600! If you have a bounce flash you may get much better results on low ISO, because it's hard to judge lenses on such high ISO speeds...

Oh, by the way ,and just for fun , even on this very serious site (sorry)
i found in my PC archives, a picture from old classic film whith Zodiak lens and post work on Photo impact.

something like a nightmare whith a Cadillac front light.

ISO ? 1600, but very dark room (3.5 aperture)and post process ion "photo Impact" may be too strong (i am not at all a specialist )
so you know , on digit cameras some old lenses are good some are very bad...that's independant of old reputation.

i am very surprised by leica R summicron is not very sharp but old Industar (zenit C) was very good !!!!!

the best one lenses on my EOS 5D and also Nikon D80 was Jupiter 6 ...monster)
if you need i can shoot outdoor (not to day , because very rainy in my country )

Alain, thank you for these, I always wondered how these lens performed. What ISO did you shoot these on? It's seems a bit grainy for a Canon.. or is it the lens?

Zenitar does seem better but I don't think it's as wide as Zodiak, or is it? Beautiful mansarde by the way! I really like that your cabinets are enclosed you don't have to dust your cameras as often as I do .

Yes, I agree with you: the Zenitar seems to be much better...
Anyway, this lens is surprising. Beyond my joke, I wondered how it is possible to adjust, surface and polish a lens with such a diameter...

As for your cavern Alain, marvelous!

Amitiés. Jacques.

it is a prototype , but fit whithout problem on many cameras because 42 mm screw mount.
on Pentax, Practika Nikon and now my EOS 5D whith adapters.
It give nice wide angle pictures but whith little fish eye effect.
would you like here an example picture ?

look here: (EOS 5D)lens wide open , the wall and windows are near meters from me...
