Hi all

Here is a Zorki Yura, or a copy.... But may be all Yuras are fakes?
Same as for Fed no name, I have removed the top plate to look if there was another engraving inside...
Nothing at all..
Camera and lens have same serial number...
Just a little ding on top plate. Discoloured on vulcanite but in full working order...

Fred

The Faker who changed this Zorki made it easy for serious collectors.
1. It all starts with the "N" infront of the serial number and not "No" which KMZ used at that time on Zorki-4 cams from the year 1961.
2. The KMZ sign is higher and not as wide as on a Zorki-4 from 1961, the arrow is different too. This is not the real KMZ sign.
3. The date 12.04.61 and the serial number seems to be in the same style, but for a Zorki-4 from 1961 KMZ used a different style for engravings. 0, 1, 2, 4 and 6 are all different.

If there were ever any genuine Zorki Yura's, why would they use a camera that had ceased production five years earlier. I think it is very unlikely that a genuine Zorki Yura was ever produced.

By the belt, yours is a Zorki 1b made in 1950-51.
Curious to chose a camera of these years to commemorate an event of 1961.
The JLP says that there were probably original Yuras, without any proof. I fear I share Vlad's scepticism...

Amitiés. Jacques.

As far as i know none of these are "Real", made as souvenirs for tourists or eBay.
