Hello!
A very interesting thing in this book about the numberings used by Fed.
It is said in appendix 3 that the Fed 2-s were engraved with ordinal numbers till c. 1100000 in 1961, the next ones have cipher engravings (probably because of the first Fed 3-s which are numbered in the same range, I suppose).
So, does anybody know which ciphers were used by the factory? It would be essential to establish a relation between serial number and year of production...

Amitiés. Jacques.

that's expected for a non-production model, especially by Boris ..

zenit 11 (looked like zenit 4) was sold by Boris , 3/4 years ago in Arsenal (lot of money, las !)

Too much errors, perhaps.
But there are some very interestings things too.
For example, about Fed 1s. It is said in the appendix 2 that no camera can be found between 182292 and 210024. In fact, I never saw any Fed 1 after 184000 and before 209000 if we except the Red Flags of course.
Not so bad...
Right to say that some lines after, he speaks about unnumbered 1 after #540000. A pity he didn't have a look at the back part of the cover...

Amitiés. Jacques.

Michel... hehehe.. yes this is book is quite outdated, but I found it on my hard drive (Aidas, I think I just found it on the Russian RFF site), so I decided to upload it since it was not in catalog already.. just for archiving purposes.

P.S. The disgusting book... :( TOO MANY ERRORS. The incredible quantity of errors... It is impossible to Yury Ryshkov... I don't believe that he was an author...
AidasCams Posted - Feb 22 2008 : 12:22:16 AM
All these mistakes are made by compiler, I guess. While having small book by Ryshkov in Russian, I can to synchronize the data indeed ...
BTW this catalogue in english was my very first purchase on eBay !

Best Regards,
Aidas

Yes. lots of faults and missing data. But it was the first FSU-camera book in english, Princelle is two years later. And ISM = 15M
