Hello,
some weeks ago I have complemented my collection with a very interesting and, I think, rare ZK lens with rather low serial number (000532).

Whether somebody knows, how long this ZK lens has been produced and what is the largest known number? On the I-page http://www.zenitcamera.com/archive/lenses/jupiter-8.html I have found this lens with #1262.

I think there are some interesting differences between the two 1951 2/50 ZK lenses: yours and David's...
Anyway, a genuine 1951 ZK would be a novelty (for me!). But no doubt KMZ could have found some old parts in their boards! It would not be the first time...
I have just checked my datas: all these lenses (the 1950 and 1951 ones) have 7 ciphers, not 6 ?...

Hi David,
Certainly you are right, or your lens is an exception.
After my datas:
- there is no 1951 2/50 ZK lens,
- all the 2/50 ZK lenses have "ears" at the diaphragm ring,
- last known ZK 2/50: serial number 5005206 (Zhang datas). First known Jupiter 8: serial # 5005386 (my collection, on a 1950 Kiev II), with ears too.
Perhaps it would be useful to put that in the wiki, as the 1950 year is a transition for ZK and Jupiter lenses.

While have a bit of a sort out of my collection, I have just come across this lens.

Although marked ZK, 1951, No. 011615, it appears to be a Jupiter-8. My guess is that the markings have been added later. What do you think?

you need a spanner wrench to unscrew the back block of the lens... easy... but precise... it's never hardly screwed...

My lens has the mount as on the right lens. It is not easy to disassemble this lens, so I would try it first on my old Jupiter-8 with the same mount.

On the left is a 1955 Jupiter-8. Pleas check #bay item:320467005850 a ZK lens has the same mount as the one on the right.

I think ltm ZK and early Jupiter-8's back should have no screws like the one on the right, am I right? Or there are more versions?

ok... you have to take out the back part of the lens... with a spanner wrench (you have two black rings inside the rangefinder cam)... normally it comes out easily...
if you look at the picture of the zeiss lens just above... it's the black rimmed part with two grips for the spanner wrench... nothing hard... on my lenses it comes out easily with the rim only...

I've got almost the same lens with the same mount but in Carl Zeis Jena 2687429 T... thought at first that was an industar 26 mount with a sonnar barrel and glass.
I would be very interested to see the back of the mount... and if possible the zeiss serial number that is hidden in this lens...

Hi Alexander,
The rigid 39mm screw mount version of the ZK seems to be rarer than the Kiev/Contax mount version. I have two versions of this lens with Kiev/Contax mount. One is a ZK of 1948 #000378 and the other is a ZK Zorki of 1949 #4903170. I also have a collapsible ZK Zorki 39mm screw mount lens of 1950 # 5001949. I do not know if the serial numbers are specific to the mount type, or whether all f/2 5cm lenses had one series of numbers. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of these lenses can let us know.
