Hi Everyone,
Here are photos of the next modification I bought but has not arrived yet. The first Fed with color except black that I have ever bought. Very colorful and patriotic for Soviet - FED ... no ?

I rarely pay attention to painted cameras, but I really like this one. I think it has taste and charm. Much more taste and charm then usual "fake Leicas". I just wish they did not paint body in red. IMHO, engraving on the top and FED badge would do the job.

Dear Okynek,
You are exactly right in the reasons that I bought this camera. There are not too many fakes I like, but sometimes one is done nicely and doesn't seem to be made in large numbers (this is the only one of these I have seen ... so far) and so I have bought a few with "taste and charm' as you say!
The covering is not painted, but is some type of replaced, possibly vinyl covering, I think it is not original because of the unusual horizontal texture, but FED 5B was made with some red coverings.
I have not seen this FED button before and it was probably made for workers in the FED Zavod since the logo on it is the same as the FED camera. A FED camera logo button doesn't seem like something that would be reproduced in quanity for Western consumption as so many Soviet era buttons were.

Regards, Bill

Hi Alain,

This nice fake is from seller "nostalgia-ussr" from Kiev, who does not specialize in fakes and only once in a while has one or two, but also has some rare cameras from time to time ... like now a Maliutka ... but expensive. Seems to have all kinds of stuff besides cameras, so probably buys things at a 'flea market'in Kiev, possibly.

Interesting about this camera is low serial number and the FED button which looks like enamel. I will show close-ups when the camera gets to me.

Regards, Bill
