These cameras don't seem to turn up often, to the point that I even forgot about its existence... Now I've seen one listed on eBay for $300 - are they THAT rare?

They are rare but not that rare. I paid less than third of that for mine.

I see, thank you Juhani! I guess I'll try to catch a better deal then ... Does anyone have any idea of quantities made?
