Does anyone know the function of the black film speed selector knob that raises up and moves to a large yellow dot or a small yellow dot? Also why can this knob only be raised when the shutter is set @ 60?

Hi Joe,

I have to admit that I had never noticed this particular feature of the Kiev-15. Unfortunately, I don't have a manual for this camera. I am therefore guessing that as this adjustment can only happen when the shutter speed is set to 1/60, that it may be the flash synchronisation setting for bulb or electronic flash.

Took a bit long to find mine, I knew I have one TEE and one TTL but the TEE was on wrong shelf. But while searching I found TWO Kiev-5 and I didn't know I have two of those...

I am pretty sure it is switch for changing meter sensitivity. TTL does not have it as it is with better meter, and the meter readout does change when this knob is used.

Best regards,
Juhani

I have a manual for this camera, only problem is finding a person to translate. I do enjoy this camera and the meter is very accurate when compared to my Gossen Digisix.
