Hello,

One of my friends bought this lens in Russia.
He would want to know what this logo is. I have not found it in Zenitcamera.

Thanks. Jacques.

Hi Jacques,

Maybe not Russian. The "F=100" does not have a Cyrillic "F".

Bill

Hello Bill,

Well not quite. There are a few lenses that have "OP" designation, I believe it means Объектив репродукционный - reproduction lens. Most were made for projectors by KOMZ. I've never seen such logo before, must be some oddball factory... I'll post pics of the other lenses later...

Cheers,
Vlad.

Thanks, Bill and Vlad.
Yes, it could be a reproduction lens by my friend, probably not a "direct" usable lens on a camera body.

If you have other details...

Amitiés. Jacques.

May be na oddball factory. I have never seen such a logo.
In time: Had anybody see the new logo of Petzval lens from KMZ?

some more information:
The Lambda means optimized for 546 Angstrongs (infrared region)
A = could be 17% best área for use
The symbol (logo) means technically an achromatized prism probably from na experimental factory

Aukro.ru eventually had several of these lenses "OR" for sale some time ago.

Luiz, are you sure it's KMZ? I thought this was Chinese-made?

Nevermind, you're right! I didn't know that! :

"High Quality Glass Optics, Manufactured In Russia

Each New Petzval lens is crafted from brass (just like the original Petzval lens) and features premium glass optics. Together with Lomography, the lenses have been designed and constructed by a team of optics specialists at the Zenit factory in Russia. Zenit are master lens manufacturers and have the skill to build the Petzval lens for use with today’s SLR cameras."

So this unknown lens must be #7 from 1971. Not bad, but I still think it's crazy to buy something when you don't have any idea what it is. Jacques, your friend has a severe addiction.

Hats off, Luiz! and thanks!

An addiction, Lenny? Just the taste of risk, like any of us, I think.
The same friend bought a radioactive lens he had to leave at the airport...

Would it be possible to have a photo of this second lens through USSRphoto? Impossible to get on eBay from France...

Jacques.
