The MTO lens came from same place as Start Photosniper, only in different boxes. So it most likely made by (or for) same person. Considering quality of the work, I think he was some ways connected to KMZ. Possibly he was one of KMZ designers or engineers or really smart machinist, which is less likely. To build this stuff is not enough to have good hands, you have to have good education, I believe.

Wow, so the glass elements you think were moved from original MTO-500 lens? How does focus occur by rotating or sliding the 2 barrels? Home-made lens - now that's some skill

I'm happy that you guys like this lens
I believe all glass elements are from MTO-500. Big barrel is rotated to focus the lens. Possibly this is not the best solution, because it really hard to focus such long lens and keep object inside the frame. Even with tripod.
