Hi guys, it's my first topic.

I'm Luigi and I write from Italy

I have a problem and I would like your help.

A friend sells a Zenit 1 (first type) at a good price.
I checked his serial number and I had many doubts and curiosity to understand.
The camera has 6 numbers and the first two are 58 ...
How is it possible?

Many thanks ...

Hello Luigi, welcome to the forum.

I owned a Zenit C for a short while. I quite liked it, I could have lived with the line down the middle of the viewfinder and got used to loading it from the bottom but the shutter broke twice, both times after firing it a few times so I thought it best to send it back.

Thanks so much Guido !!
I am madly in love with Soviet cameras.
I own too many ... but they are never enough!

I thought about this, but Zenit S (C) always has seven or eight digits for the serial number.

no, this must be not Zenit-S. Rather the missing first digit on a Zenit from 1955.

no ... is 8 !!! 589889
I can not determine what produced this.

the Industar 22 lens has the serial number 546483
