hi all...

got an Helios 40 (39mm) with the serial number 000175...
and the original bill

who could tell me how much was 95,0 (or was it 950?) roubles in 1958... in terms of labor, valuta...?

Hi Stephan,

In 1958, the average monthly salary of Soviet employees was 77.8 rubles, and the minimum salary between 1956-1960 was 27-35 rubles.:-) 1 kilograme flour(1st grade) cost 0.31 ruble , and 1 kilograme beef(1st grade) cost 1.5 ruble in 1959.

This price is written correctly. Kievuser forgot, that in 1961 there was a denomination... ;)

Both Zhang and Zoom are correct indeed, only Zhang have converted the average monthly sallary to denominated value already.

meaning that the lens did cost more than an average monthly wage...

which is almost normal (a ZI 85mm/2 today costs far more than a month wage in the EU)
