Anyone ever seen a prewar FED 100mm viewfinder for sale? What's the chance of getting one (in working condition) and for how much?
Best regards, Christian |

Posted - Nov 14 2011 : 10:55:17 PM I have listed, for sale on Ebay, the rare FED Sports Finder. Expensive, but maybe we will see if it sells and, if so, for what amount!

I'm sorry for confusing expression. I mean that viewfinder is original to FED and to FED 100mm lens, not to camera S-13 or to lens shown on the Web side. Seller should offer this items separately, IMHO separately these items would sell faster and possibly get more money to seller. |

Posted - Nov 12 2011 : 1:51:27 PM I do have a FED 100mm F6.3 lens for sale if anyone is interested please contact me.
Thanks, Vlad. |

Posted - Nov 10 2011 : 04:35:52 AM Exactly! A viewfinder makes no sense with this type of camera built into a plane.
I guess since there is a FED 100mm viewfinder and a FED 100mm 6.3 lens whereas there is almost no information about the S-13, that was enough to bundle the two.

Posted - Nov 10 2011 : 02:18:10 AM I was interested in that lens. The seller had answered that it was a Fed lens without other explanation. Of course, it is totally impossible.
The finder is nice, but it cannot fit that lens.
Amitiés. Jacques. PS: I own three 6,3/100mm and lack two finder... |

Posted - Nov 09 2011 : 7:29:15 PM It is an original S-13 lens, I have the same one on my S-13 Photomachinegun, the viewfinder seems to be completely unrelated piece, no idea why it's bundled like that... |

Posted - Nov 09 2011 : 6:31:52 PM Thanks, looks like it's part of some sort of machine gun aerial camera, however the ones I know look different.
This raises the question how the viewfinder fits in there, I highly doubt it was originally part of the system.
Unfortunately the store owner doesn't seem to be interested in answering to emails...

Posted - Nov 09 2011 : 5:48:38 PM original FED but not original S-13 I assume? |

Posted - Nov 09 2011 : 5:33:36 PM This lens is from camera S-13 mounted on MIG fighters, see: http://ussrphoto.com/Wiki/default.asp?WikiCatID=17&ParentID=1&ContentID=228&Item=S%2D13+Photo+Machine+Gun+Camera+Czech+Export
The viewfinder seem to be original. |

Posted - Nov 09 2011 : 11:08:23 AM Thank you, very nice photos!
However we still have no idea what a viewfinder might be worth. Does anyone have an idea?
I have come across some strange "Russian Airforce" FED 100mm 6.3 lens and viewfinder, however it clearly does't fit standard FED cameras.
Have you seen something like this before?

Posted - Nov 06 2011 : 07:49:58 AM Well I was rummaging around and found two FED 1:6,3 F=100 m/m lenses (forgot about the second lens) in addition to the FED marked 100mm finder and pigskin pouch - told you I haven't actively collected for a while. Anyhow, I will try post photos sometime today. |

It's true, the 100mm lens is quite easy to find compared to the viewfinder. I guess it was indeed sold seperately as stated by okynek.
I have found an offer for a FED 100mm 6.3 lens and viewfinder combined but they look different and may be something completely else. I'll investigate this further...

Posted - Nov 05 2011 : 08:23:05 AM Sports finder are still more difficult to find! As for the 100mm optical finder, I have seen it from time to time on eBay, but it's scarce. And almost impossible to buy without the lens...
Some (rare) are numbered, not the others. I still wonder why... Perhaps the non numbered were made (and sold) separately? Another question: it seems there are much more 100mm lenses than 100mm finders ?

Posted - Nov 04 2011 : 11:18:51 PM Non optical viewfinders like this: http://ussrphoto.com/Wiki/default.asp?WikiCatID=31&ParentID=3&ContentID=659&Item=FED+Sports+Finder was available before WWII for Fed. They are hard to find now-days. Optical viewfinders was expensive and considered to be over the top for amateurs photographers at that time. |

Posted - Nov 04 2011 : 5:53:42 PM Hello!
I have seen many lenses without the viewfinder. So I think, it is impossible to get one. I have also one missing!!! |
