Hello everyone,

I am Bill Parkinson, living in beautiful San Francisco, California and I have been collecting Russian cameras for about five years. Although I sometimes use the old cameras, I make most of my own photographs with a Sigma SD-9 Digital SLR and an Olympus 5050 Zoom digital camera. Sometimes I use Soviet M-42 lenses on the SD-9 using an adapter to make them fit.

My interest in the Russian cameras is more in the technical and historical aspects of Russian and Soviet photographs and equipment used to make them. I also collect Russian light meters, photographic ephemera, and Russian photographs themselves, including material from before, during, and after the Soviet era.

For a living, I am an art and antiques dealer and appraiser, specializing in antique paintings and ethnographic art, and I have been involved in that profession for about 28 years.

I have a web site with some photos of a small part of my Russian photography and camera collection, (nightphoto.com) and I will be very pleased to contribute to these forums and the new WIKI Catalog whenever possible. I love the idea of a WIKI style catalog for Soviet - Russian equipment, etc. and my thanks to Vlad for creating it !

Regards, Bill
