Hi guys,

I just saw some images of a 1949 dual logo Kiev II. I had thought that 1950 was the year the earliest dual logo Kiev IIs were made.So does anyone know when was the 1st dual logo Kiev II,IIIs were made?
These seem quite rare compared to those block logo early Kievs.

Thanks for your input.

Cheers,

zhang

Hi Zhang,

OK, I will think about it ...

But to say the truth, I'm not really sure that this export Kiev-2 1949 is an authentic one ... Anyway we need to have a real camera in our hands to say more presicely ...

BTW I do possess an interesting book (1950?) featuring all early soviet cameras intended for export. Kiev-2 camera has usual block name engravings, though Zorki-1 comes with binary export engravings already ...

Hi Aidas,

This is a very interesting book. I have a Chinese version of a Russian book published in 1955 in Moscow that showed some early Soviet cameras. For Kiev II, it showed a 1947 version. Now, it is a rare collectable camera. I haven't seen one for sale for a long time. I don't often see a 1950-52 exoprt Kiev II for sale either.

Cheers,

Zhang

I'm sure, that your export version of Kiev 1951 is even more uncommon to find ... I have never seen one alive ...

Hi Aidas,

I 'd like to trade your 1950 export Kiev II with my 1951 one.

I also have a 1952 dual logo Kiev II that I bought in Budapest. Here is an image of the 1951 One FYI.

Cheers,

Zhang

Hi Aidas,

Many thanks for your input. My 1951 dual logo export Kiev II also has logo engraved at about the same place as your 1950 Kiev II, but that 1949 has a logo engraved lower on the front plate. According to my observation, early export Kiev II, III( before 1953) are much less often seen.

Kind regards,

Zhang

Hi Zhang,

thanks a lot for your pictures! I have never met export Kiev-1949 before ... My early export version has s/n #500686 (ZK Zorki #4905182). Take a look at the picture below - an export markings are engraved on different places indeed ...
