Posted - May 28 2010 : 08:53:17 AM Hi guys,
I'm not disapointed because I did buy it knowing it's a mostly likely a kotleta but bought it anyways for fun . Also the reason I didn't post it straight to catalog. Bill, Aidas both of you are right, the screws on the front shutter plate seem used and scuffed. I also see a slight difference in texture between the back and the main body of the cameras, the plastic "grain" is more fine on front, which is a body from S-4.. Also serial # now that I see matches the Smena-2 Release-5 of SSK book. Oh well, at least I didn't pay arm and a leg for it, but makes for a fun shelf piece (or parts camera ehehheh).
Cheers, Vlad. |

Posted - May 28 2010 : 08:12:41 AM Hi Vlad,
sorry to dissapoint you , but your camera is Kotleta as Juhani said. It's easy to see from the picture, that shutter plate was screwed out many times ...
Have a nice weekend!

Posted - May 28 2010 : 12:35:11 AM It seems that since BeLOMO was taking over production of these Smenas, maybe they did make a Smena-4.
I know that some of these early lenses on Belomo Smena-2 still had GOMZ logo on the lens, so that means that GOMZ transferred parts to BeLOMO. Not impossible that a Smena-4 body (or more than one) was in the transferred parts and with BeLOMO lens and back added ... Vlad's camera.
But could also be as Juhani says. Vlad, check to see if the unusual parts fit perfectly to the body and also whether the screws on the lens-shutter mount look to have been messed with.
