All Avtomat/AM's/APK have 6V (six) as voltage. You can get it in many ways: 1) Using one 6V 4?R44 2) Using four 1,5V ?R44 with original adapter tube, or "home made" with washers 3) Using four 1,5V ?625 pssibly with washers, not always needed 4) Using external pack for four "AA" size 1,5V batteries. The "?" is because that letter indicates silver or alkaline or other type.

Posted - Jun 19 2011 : 03:42:36 AM I have checked the English and Russian versions of the Zenit Auto/Avtomat manuals. The English version lists 4 x PX625 or 1 x PX28. The Russian version lists 4 x аж53. I hope this helps.

Posted - Jun 18 2011 : 11:39:25 AM Hi, 4x PX625 ARE NOT EQUAL 1 PX28L. PX625 has another voltage : 1,35V (not 1.5V). You could have problems with them. Nevertheless you can use 4xLR44, they have already 1.5V.

Posted - Jun 18 2011 : 11:09:34 AM I've used both a px28 6v battery and 4xLR44 1.5v batteries taped together-with some washers as spacers, same techniques will work with the AM2 and APK as well

The Zenit Avtomat and Zenit Auto both use four PX625 button cells.
