The Soviets had copied the japanese camera and got for it the gold medal on the Leipzig Fair 1965 .

Really external similarities are evident. I know both cameras. and they have completely different size and mechanics. Bodies also differ from size and internal shape. Ricoh is also lighter and smaller.
