A quick look at the KMZ website, www.zenit-foto.ru, yielded the following information.
They have restarted production of the lenses MC Mir-20M f/3.5 20mm, Helios 40-2 f/1.5 85mm and the MC APO Telezenitar-M f/2.8 135mm.
At this year's Photokina in Cologne, Germany they showed the Horizon DL-3 digital panoramic camera and the Horizon S3 Pro and S3-U500 cameras. So, maybe the DL-3 is still on the cards.
They also stated that they produced the AFA-39A aerial camera, two of which were launched into space in 1957 to take the first phtographs of earth from space. The picture accompanying this item shows the camera, and it looks very like the RA-39A. Could this be one and the same camera? I thought that the RA-39A was produced much later and manufactured by KOMZ.

Hi Zoom, excellent news!! I had to use waybackmachine archive to get access to your site numerous times, so it'll be great to have it online again!

Best regards,
Vlad.

Yes, it will be restarted as a private website (the plant does not want to be associated with this website). What deadline?.. As soon as possible (there are too many pages, and all must be corrected).

They are mistaken.
Indeed, AFA-39 was manufactured by KOMZ.
The first photographs of Earth from space were made October 24, 1946 year. USA, New Mexico, White Sands Missile Range, 13th V-4 rocket test, altitude: 104.6 km (above than Karman line).

I am interested in the new production but there is one problem:

Where the heck do you buy it??? Even KMZ's online shop does not have them up for offer. Nothing on eBay. Nothing from resellers. KMZ never responded to my email either. (they did do so before)

Hopefully this will drop the insane Helios-40 prices down if true.
