And on my two Fed NKVD with consecutive numbers, the numbers "dance" in the same manner: http://www.ussrphoto.com/Forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1266 Probably the engravings were made partly by hand, or with a machine tool not well regulated. Like for the Fed 2... Jacques.
