Posted - May 21 2015 : 12:37:04 PM Hi to all USSR cameras lovers!
Here are a couple shots made with my "new" Moskva 5
I made 2 test rolls: First with Tri-x & Adonal and Second with Adox CMS 20 & Ars-Imago Fd Developer (It's a new developer from an Italian/Swiss company. It seems good, practical and cheap. So I made a test with an hard to manage film. The reasons why I did it are written in my blog)

First Roll - Moskva 5 (6X6) & Tri-x in Adonal See more here: https://thefilmrenaissance.wordpress.com/2015/05/09/cccp-moskva-5-first-test/

Second Roll - Moskva 5 (6X9) & Adox CMS 20 in Ars-Imago Fd See more here: https://thefilmrenaissance.wordpress.com/2015/05/19/test-adox-cms-20-developed-in-ars-imago-fd-part-two/
Btw. Moskva performed very good functionally and had a good I.Q. in 6X6 format. The 6X9 format showed less performance of images borders (apart for the not so good performance of the film itself and the difficult scans of...curling 6X9 film).
I bought my Moskva from an Ebay seller (an English guy who makes his business in Ukraine), who proved affordable (so, I've just bought again from him a Fotokor 1 9x12....). I'll write a post about him in the specific forum of USSRphoto soon....

If you can shoot more photos per roll in 6x6 how did they manage that the film advance transports less film? Would have been great to have this feature on a Zorki, 24x24.
Don't know if film performs better now than in 1956 'cause I wasn't born yet (I was in '58) But, some people still is nostalgic with some old emulsions and some of the actual films should be very similar to these (i.e. fomapan). After all, photography has always been made (and... well made) for decades before now....
In my cameras I don't shot more frames per roll. Some has the automatic advance feature too (Rolleiflex, SuperIkonta etc) and with others I don't even know how to do it. But I use medium format really to shot few (but good) frames... So, 12 (in 6x6) and 8 (in 6x9) are enough for me. When I need more I use the Nettar (6x4,5) wher I get 16 frames. I bought an Agfa ISoly too with a 4x4 format but doesn't work and impossible to repair 'cause of missing parts. Actually I'm testing a Bencini Koroll 2: an Italian strange camera which shots 24 frames on 120 roll... We'll see how it works...

I had already seen some on your photos on your blog. Bravo! I wonder if I will not buy a 6x6 camera one of these days. Just to change a bit...
If you want to show more photos, you can do it in the "photo gallery" forum.
Amitiés. Jacques.
Thanks Jaques!
Well, the square format is very interesting and "well balanced" in framing. Many loves it unconditionally, while other hate it the same way.... I like it very much....
Tomorrow I will test the "new" Lubitel..... Of course, I'll post other photos in the gallery. This time I posted here by mistake....
