There are different versions of J-12 with slightly different shape of the rear element and with varying levels of compatibility. But even if it fits physically you will lose metering which kinda negates the point of having a Bessa. |

Posted - Jan 13 2017 : 11:37:30 AM The Jupiter-12 pleased me on A7. Naturely, you should not expect great results in corners wide open, but I found it not that bad at all, especialy if you close diaph a bit.
Here are some photos on A7, J-12 is from LZOS, black version.

Posted - Jan 12 2017 : 11:10:43 PM Thank you a lot, also the digital side was good to know. I have already tried the combination of full frame DSLR and "Kiev/NAI-lenses" but it was not what I wanted, too clumsy. Just want to use the old lenses some times, but it should not be too difficult or expensive, which spoils the fun.

Posted - Jan 12 2017 : 3:51:58 PM no, no problem, the bessa works fine with them. I had 2 bessa L and I have 3 jup-12. they were all o.k. with the bessas. I would not say that I was impressed by the jup-12, but seen the price they are fine and there is little choice in M39 at this range. if you accept adapters, there are better lenses in M42, but they are much bigger and in case of bessa rangefinders you loose the coupling to the rangefinder.
however the jup-12 is very bad with full format digital cameras. the rear element could destroy the mirror in dslr types and there is not enough room in some mirrorless cameras. and even if it fits, as to my sony A7, the results are bad. afaik digital sensors need rays that hit in right angles onto the sensor, whereas the jup-12 and its big rear element produces slightly bent rays to the film plane, which are no problem for film and its silver grains.
