Posted - Sep 18 2017 : 09:51:16 AM First of all, I'd like to say hello to everyone here, as this is my first post. :) Greetings!
I have a few USSR made lenses in my collection, which I very much like using on my digital Pentax. Recently I started to gather more data about soviet optics and what has been released for Pentax K-mount. During that time, I also found out about the A-type interchangeable mounts on some of the glass. It appears that lenses such as Jupiter 37A, Mir-10A, Tair-11A and so on (with 'A' letter after number) have a kinda-sorta T2 mount, and usually come up with screwed-on adapter for a target mount, like M42.
There are a few adapters of such type on eBay, but quite expensive and only for Nikon mount, branded KP-A/H. I wonder if there some for Pentax K, and whether I need to use such one specifically, or a generic T2-Pentax adapter will do (so far I've read conflicting opinions on that).
Obviously I realize that such specific adapter probably won't let the camera control the aperture, and also I can easily use my M42-mount Jupiter 37A through screwmount-PK adapter; however, I like the idea of using few of my lenses without having to fiddle with the M42 adapter.
Cheers! |

There you have it. And very often these two are mixed, as people don't know the small difference.

Well, I did. http://forum.mflenses.com/t-and-t2-mount-t8729.html
These people say that "T and T2 mounts are interchangeable". But other people say that only some T2 adapters work on the soviet lenses.
Also, your link does not say anything about T mount, only T2 and M42.
I also know that there's something called Minolta A-mount for SLRs. I was aware this might cause some confusion, but I hoped that the context is clear - I was talking about soviet 'A' type lenses that have interchangeable mounts, like the ones I mentioned. Never heard about any USSR-made lenses made for Minolta mount, but maybe there were some... I don't know. |
