from Klub Dalnomer

An extraordinary presentation from Alexey T. Pictures follow text.

1 I want to present team mates, as well as all self-made, completely finished, working chamber on the basis of "Zorki-6". In addition to measuring, the camera has other improvements, which increase the convenience of working with it.

And so, in order:
2 TTL metering is collected on a CdS photoresistor. It is located behind the upper flap and is directed towards the curtain. Metering type - central weighted, according to the reflection from a white circle with a diameter of 14 mm, applied to the first curtain.

3 The photoresistor does not interfere even with the rear element of the Jupiter-12 lens.

4 The electronic circuit is assembled on a 4-channel comparator LM339 and CMOS logic CD4093.
5 As indicators - three LEDs "underexposure - normal - overexposure". Simultaneous illumination of two indicators indicates an exposure deviation of 0.5 EV in either direction.
6 The circuit also has the function of indicating the discharge of the battery (blinking of the average LED with a frequency of 2 Hz). The metering is activated - by the half-pressing of the trigger button and after 15 seconds it returns to the sleep mode with practically zero power consumption.

7 The curtains are unfolded by the fabric side to the lens and have sewn bows.
8 The camera has a new viewfinder with frames of 50 mm (actually - a percentage of 15 already) having an increase of about 0.8X.

9 The pressure table has been replaced by a longer one for evenly pressing the film over the entire film channel.
10 In the back cover of the camera, a window is opened for displaying data on the type of film and ISO applied to the cassette. The lock of the back cover is snap-fit, and not pushed by a finger.
11 A shoe with a central contact and an ISO setting wheel

12 Two LR44 batteries are installed in the compartment in the bottom cover

13 The contacts that activate the measurement work are closed from the movement of the trigger spring.

Incredible work. I take it that the controls used to make the exposure are the camera's normal controls, but am I right in thinking that in order to tell the light meter what speed has been chosen you move the film speed that you are using to the shutter speed on scale next to the film speed dial?

This craftsman could work in KMZ or other photo factory somewhere in USSR. This is made by somebody with undoubtedly big knowledge about camera construction and electonic.

Well, it was a good choice to put "factory made" in doublequotes. You mentions cameras in your list of sources that are made more than twenty years after the Zorki-6 body was made. I don't even think that anyone working for KMZ had anything to do with this modification. This looks to be a great work of a very skilled craftsman. Not a forger of cause!

If the electronics are from a Bessa this modified Zorki-6 was made after 1999. The last Zorki was made in 1978 (Zorki-4K) by the way. I even think this modified Zorki-6 was made in the last - let's say - five years. But that's my own opinion only.

Best wishes - Guido

According to m view this amazing modification seems to be a "factory made" modification.
At least a member of serius relationship to the fctory personel
several part came from Zenit 12 CD and rangefinder window from "Drug"
The rear door is a clear provenance of Zenit 11 with its large back pressure plate. also the door with the "factory made open window came from a special series of Zenit 11
the bottom spring came from the last series of Zenit E.
the battery shell came from a Zenit 122 the complete ISO switch, resistors Kob and rewind crank from a Zenit 12 XP The schematics is the same of Zenit 122 with readapted layout and put to be used with western chips Na extraordinary well made Project from a people who knows what was doing
I believe that electronics and eye frame came from a Cosina Voigtlander Bessa
Congratulations to all.

Thanks Vlad.
Incredible, so sophisticated modification.
I can see the camera was made in 1965 but the modification much later.
Rewinding knob comes from Zenit TTL/12XP I think, hot shoe either. But remaining parts ?

Alfa2 - self-made custom job.

I'm a little bit confused.
Who has made the improvements ? Was it made in any factory or self-made ?
Vlad Posted - Nov 04 2017 : 7:30:34 PM
Amazing!! And a lot more elegant construction than FED 6TTL with the jumping arm! Just adjust the sensitivity up of the Cds meter to account for black curtain consuming light and voila! Fantastic work!

Thanks for posting Luiz!

Cheers,
Vlad
