Posted - Nov 09 2018 : 3:50:54 PM Ciao guys !
I have an Fed-1 (C) NKVD with serial number 56450 (1937/1939). Following the indications of sovietcams.com, determined by serial number, the camera is of the PE0225 type. The detail that escapes me is that this model should have small bolt - bottom plate holder.
Conversely mine has bigger bolt - bottom plate holder ! Always following sovietcams.com those with the bigger bolt, should be between serial numbers 80.000-87.000 about.
Ask how it is possible ? Thanks a lot. Luigi from Italy
Good evening! Even the vulcanic rock on your case has a rough coating, as on the post-war buildings of the FED. Most likely you have a late release shutter mechanism. Probably put the top cover on the late camera, it turned out a hybrid. I hope that I did not spoil your mood !? :)))
absolutely not ! I paid too little to complain. He was at a flea market in a Zorki bag !! I was lucky to open the bag and see this Fed "(hybrid?)

Hi Luigi,
Yes, you should have a small pin instead of a big one with such a serial number. And too the round part of the shoe should be in contact with the vulcanite, without any space.
Probably your Fed was repaired and parts mixed, which is not rare. But what a neat and beautiful engraving...
Amitiés. Jacques.
sorry ... I had forgotten to thank
