Posted - Dec 13 2018 : 3:37:29 PM I own a Kiev 5 / Helios 94 1.8/50. I have always read that for this type of bayonet, the only two objectives that can be mounted are : Jupiter 8NB and Helios 94 (50mm). Tonight, to play, I tried to mount a Jupiter 12 (black, Litkarino 1983) ... to my surprise, the lens was mounted without problems and the rangefinder is perfect on all distances !! The back lens does not touch the shutter, even if it is very close.
Do you think all this is normal? Will I be able to use this pair normally? Many thanks to those who will help me.

Hi Luigi, all of the outer bayonet lense can be used on the Kiev 5, so the Jupiter 12, 11, 9 and Orion 15 should all work. On the last Kiev 5 variation there are even 85mm framelines for the Jupiter 9 lens. Regards, Nathan
thanks a lot Nathan !
how do we recognize the external and non-external bayonets?
