Hallo! I just saw your announcement on RFF - this looks very interesting indeed!

I've been using and accumulating Soviet cameras since 1986, when I excitedly unwrapped a new Zenit 12XP from Global Cameras of Harrow, a name most British FSU camera enthusiasts will fondly recall.

My interest was sparked by a fascination with soviet photography, which also continues unabated. It's very good to be here!

Cheers, Ian

Ian,

sorry to hear about your 12XP... I almost lost a Chaika II about a week ago, when it fell from top shelf. But luckily it landed on my head. So I prefer a bump on my head over a lost Chaika II :)... lol..

Vlad.

Thank you everyone! Alas Vlad, my original 12XP fell from my hands a year or so later and took a terminal blow from the pavement I never loved a camera more - so I've been trying to compensate ever since!

I'm sure this forum will become a really valuable resource - thank you once again for the welcome!

All the best, Ian

Ian!

A hearty welcome to you too!! It's great to see this site gaining some popularity! :) It only launched last week! I hope we're onto something here.

Zenit 12XP is one of my favorites actually! I have just been shooting with it over the weekend, I really like the way B+W comes out on it.

Please feel free to post to any areas of the site, including seller review, the catalog (add to entries, edit them, etc if you find anything inaccurate. ) I know it's quite a mess there right now, since we've been actively populating it, but hopefully with time it will be more refined.

Vlad
