I might mention what I have been using on 50mm elmar type focusing threads. It's called silicone Dielectric, silicone compound, It works great , I clean the threads with an old tooth brush, then just dab a little on both sides of the focus stage into the threads. Then work it in by moving the focus back and forth. It makes it work like new. I don't think I would use this on the fine threaded Helicoid type lenses which need a complete re-do to operate reliably, This is so easy that it can be redone in a few years if needed easliy. Don
