Posted - Aug 22 2007 : 10:37:39 AM I would like to thank Vlad for visiting and contributing to our August Meeting of the Chicago Photographic Collectors Society. The program scheduled for the evening was for was for each member to bring any type image over 50 years old of their family. I ja[[end to have 2 Tin-Types of my Grandmother attending Chicago's White City in 1894. The White City was more or less an amusement park built in the same style as the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. Many of the World's Fair attractions, including the original Ferris Wheel were there.
Anyway, due to the heavy rains we have been experiencing a number of members could not attend and our program had gone by quickly. I was very happy when Vlad mentioned that he brought his bag with a number of camera's from his collection to share with us. Our members enjoyed his presentation very much.
I received two calls this morning by two members who attended the meeting last night and said they enjoyed your presentation very much. One of the guys said he was going to bring out his Fed (wasn't sure of the model) and place a roll through it for the weekend.
To thank you even more, check olut the Links of our website www.chicagophotographic.org/ and you will see the USSRPHOTO.COM url already listed.

It was a sheer pleasure to come out and attend the Chicago Photographic Society meeting! I would like to thank YOU very much for the invitation and the opportunity!
I wasn't expecting to be a guest speaker, but that worked out so well! I saw a spark of interest in Soviet equipment among a lot of collectors attending! I really appreciate the opportunity to show these wonderful cameras and promote this web site. It was quite amazing!
I can tell you this much, you will see me at the next meeting as a member of the Society! :)
