Posted - May 13 2008 : 4:27:18 PM I recently got at 1955 Zorki 1 (e) with case in a superb condition for 100 nis. ($28) after lowering the price from 300nis ($85) at an antique market.
Inside the leather case there is a Deer engraving\stamped logo with Moscow and a few other words spelled in Cyrillic.
Has anyone encountered the same logo? Is it commemorative or has to do with a soviet post?
Thank You.

The "deer" cases are indeed common, but this was not the only factory. I think there were many of them. Some cameras of the same period could have cases from different factories, especially in the 70's and 80's. A better was usually made for export, and a crappy one - for domestic use.

Posted - May 14 2008 : 10:14:55 AM yes sure but... I found this logo in a Komsomoletz "luxury" (!!!) brown simili leather case....was it the same atelier ?
Posted - May 13 2008 : 9:08:53 PM Tom It is written Moskovskii Koj Zavod or, Moscow leather factory The factory responsible for all soviet cameras cases. The deer is its symbol Regards Luiz

Posted - May 13 2008 : 4:44:54 PM Hi Tom,
I think that this engraving stamped on your leather case could mention the maker of the case ?
