Posted - Nov 16 2013 : 11:24:24 AM Testing in the Dutch Analogue Photo Forum, maybe interesting here too.
I know this J-8 is a great lens. Here a picture in the war museum Overloon. F/2,0 on Fomapan Creative 200 film, E.I. 160 and developed in Xtol 1+1 for 9:00 minutes at 20C. Zorki 4K.
This test will be done on high resolution micro film, ATP1,1 (Rollei-Agfa Gevaert).
More soon .........

Posted - Nov 22 2013 : 5:00:28 PM Not in this test but done before is the Jupiter-12 F/2,8-35mm (Biogon type). Here also an example on ATP1,1 in RLC 1+5. BTW all pics with this film will be made on almost open aperture due to the fact that the resolution of a lens will go down rapidly when closing the aperture. In this example F/3,5. This ATP1,1 film can reach approx. 400lp/mm but on a high contrast light situation. In most regular photographic circumstances and in the studio, 1:8 in contrast which means just over 250lp/mm for this film.
Closing the aperture means approx. this calculation:
Again using ideal values for the Rayleigh limit, and applying the contrast theory of Kühler, the resolution for the average wavelength of light (0,555 micron) is: Aperture Resolution (F/) 1,4 550 lp/mm 2.0 385 lp/mm 2.8 263 lp/mm 4,0 185 lp/mm 5.6 135 lp/mm 8.0 94 lp/mm 11.0 69 lp/mm
Source and (c): IMX (2001) Erwin Puts.
Here the example with this nice and small compact gem:
F/3,5 which means a theoretically around 220lp/mm.

Posted - Nov 22 2013 : 12:57:38 PM I will test the Industar-61 without Lanthanium from Jacques in this test too. It is from 1967 together with a FED 3 50 years of the CCCP revolution special edition. As soon as it has been arrived from France I will take it in this test too.
Jacques, merci pour envoyer cette camera et objectiv de les Pays-Bas.

J-8 with ATP1,1 (Rollei) in R.L.C. (Film Low Gamma) 1+5. Edit: F/3,5 for the reason mentioned below.
J-8 (Fuji pro 160S).
Summicron (Fuji pro 160S)
Edit: Color film has a much lower resolution. A top notch film like Velvia 50 (E-6) can reach 85lp/mm. This pro 160S Fuji C-41 film maybe around 65lp/mm.

Thanks, Robert. Jacques. |
