Hello, Without really looking for that result, I have now all the series of Fed S I know, except one... Perhaps I'm the greatest collector of S in the world? Certainly some guys are even crazier than me. No?
I have seen this S eBerdsk, in fact the one we discussed of about the dates and places of making. It was previously in DVD's collection...
No problem to share the variants. But they are simple to imagine: they follow the variants of NKVD.
What exists (if I am not wrong):
- "c" first version, base plate pin: 3mm. - second version, pin: 5mm. - third version, no more screw visible under the rewind knob. - fourth version: central screw no more hidden by the lens rim. Completely visible. No problem to find the limits: Fricke gives them.
- "d" first version. Brass shutter cage, hole in the press film. From c. 94xxx to c. 115/120xxx. - second version. Alu shutter cage. 115/120xxx to c. 150xxx. - third version. No more hole in the press film. C. 150xxx to c. 173600.
- "e" version. I don't know if there are variants.
These 8 versions all exist: I have checked them. I own a "c" 1st version more, with leather and ears for straps. And a Leica fake which seems true, made from a "d" first version. I don't know if there are Leica fakes made from other versions.
I have heard of a S made from an "f". Not impossible with spare parts after the war. But I never saw any.
