I don't know for sure, but probably this is a German box camera that was sold at a retail photography shop in Kharkov. It looks like the label of a retailer, not of a maker. I think the label reads: Kharkov ... Anatoli Werner ... Moscow St. No. 2

I think Vlad could give a better translation. The camera may be from about 1910 - 1925 ... my guess.

Regards, Bill

Bill,

you may be right about the German origin, the plaque may also be owner's tag as well since it has person's name and address... age-wise I would say definitely pre-1918 since the "hard sign" letter and letter "I" (Yat') was dropped from Russian language at that time. Your translation is correct Bill.

14-15. "Pioner", "Pioner-2", middle of 1930 years (1937-38-?), Kiev Factory “FOKHT” (Ukrainfil’m), Artel Factory of Moscow “ARFO.”
you will see a similar camera (made in USSR)
But acording to pictures you sent, this is a German camera pre-1917.
I cannot precise you but I sahll do a research...
Many thanks for coming ... many thanks for your contribution.
