This is a 1965 Zenit 4 body with a strange inscription on the top.

http://www.ussrphoto.com/UserContent/1042013_Immagine.jpg

It says: V/O MASHPRIBORINTORG SSSR MOSKVA
I don't think it's russian, but I'm not sure because it says SSSR.
Is there anyone who knows what does it mean this inscription?

Thanks

Francesco

Mashpriborintorg was an organisastion in charge of exporting Russian techical products. So this camera was either used by them in their work (making brochures maybe?) or as an exhibition camera in foreign shows.

Best regards,
Juhani

WOW, Francesco.
It is a very-very rare find! These cameras were stamped for the international exhibitions only and after
that were established by manufacturer in museum. Normally they have not been used for daily "photographical" work.
They came to market after 1991 with the end of the USSR.

Regards, Alexander

I just bought it at a flea market in Italy with many other stuff some years ago.
It was very cheap, maybe because it had not the lens.
I thought the rare one was my other Zenit 4 which has the booklet in italian and both the pentaprism and the waist level finder.

Regards, Francesco
