Hello all,
some times ago I found a little paper inside a Fed's bag, this one:
front

and back

http://www.ussrphoto.com/UserContent/1742013_Immagine 002.jpg

There are printed camera and lens characteristics, and there are written camera number(142265), lens number(141727) and issuing date(30/IX/40), but I don't think it is the passport, it looks more as a guarantee certificate.
Is there anyone who knows what is it?

Thank you

Francesco

Hi Francesco,

yes, it is really a passport for the FED camera (in this case may be a guaranty as well ). In guaranty certificate you do not see any technical data and there must be normally the date of purchase instead of the date of factory check.
The passport could be a separate sheet included into the user manual or a part of the user manual (usually the last page of the manual). Early cameras were sold with only this certificate. The user manual you had to buy separately.

Nowadays it is rather rare find. Congratulations!

Regards, Alexander

Well technically in USSR, Atestat was technical characteristics and Passport was the a manual with assigned serial #. In this particular case it's probably interchangable

Cheers,
Vlad.
