Hello,

strange that I didn't found this forum before.

My name is Michael, I'm living with my wife - she is a wedding photographer - in Northwest Germany near the dutch border.

I was a collector of russian lens for M42 for a some years, absolutely addicted after I bought my first Jupiter 9 a few years ago. I use them on Canon Digital Cameras, sometimes with a focus confirmation chip. For some years I had a german website with technical data and pictures of all my lens (http://www.winken-zemke.de, perhaps someone has known the site). But it is temporary closed because there were so much spam and attempts to misuse the communication features of my CMS, that I decided to make a break. I will build it new and static in the future.

I think I'm not a 'real' collector anymore because there isn't enough spare time. I'm somewhat between a user and a collecor. I've sold a few lens during the last month - but there is enough left

Here are some of my lens:

Zenitar Fisheye 16/2,8
I use this lens often during weddings for wide angles from the back. Sometimes to much CA'S

Jupiter 9 MC 85/2
I had 3 or 4 of them, but I sold all but one. I love the smooth rendering with open aperture

Mir-10A 28/3,5
Sometimes heavy flares, but with perfect light the images are rendered with wonderful color and contrast

Tair 11-2 133/2,8 black
I have absolutely no information about this version of the well known tair 11. Nothing in the net, nothing in Princelles. It must be a small series - serial number starts with 03. That usually means it is not from an ordinary production line.

Mir-1v/w/sh ...
I have some of these in different versions - perfect color rendering, I love the results very much.

Helios 44 58/2
There are around 15 different versions at home. I often buy old cheap zenits at ebay to get a new one as a hidden gift

Mir-47M 20/2,5 - too much CA's and flares, I think I will sell it in the future

Jupiter 37AM 135/2,8 sharp and good color rendering, a good replacement for the much more expensive Zeiss Sonnar

There are some more, but I think this is enough for the first post ...

Michael

Hi Michael,

Welcome to the forum and glad you found it. This forum and site has only been up for about a year, so maybe that's why you didn't see it until now.

It is a very nice group of lenses you have and I would love to see photos of the Tair 11-2 if you have any. Maybe if it is a KMZ lens then our member "Zoom" will know about it as he is closely connected with KMZ!

You can also add information that was on your website into our WIKI if you like. It is easy to do. Just go to the WIKI and then pick the proper category. Then you can make an entry including uploading some photos.

So welcome and you will see that manyy of us collect and use the fine Russian lenses!

Regards, Bill

Thank you for your nice words.

Here is a picture of my Tair 11-2, made by KMZ, unusual black and first digits of serial number are "03":

A french collector wrote some time before that there is a hierarchy of "00" and "0" series depending on the first digits and that this one perhaps was made for KMZ related persons.

I like the idea of the wiki very much. When there is a break in the wedding season I will participate for sure - I need some time to get through my portfolio because we didn't separate the images made with modern lenses and the USSR ones
