Am I missing something here?

Take a look at the Camera Mate website. Check out the Fed 1c.
It's apparently a Zorki body, replated.

What do you think?

I do not know ...but here specialists may answer.
But , I know very well Vitaly , the web-leader in this site (quite a good friend and good relationship ) so I can say he is not every time serious....be carefull and ask for garanties when you purchase him.

It's peculiar to me.
Is it to be a "Copy" of a Fed 1c ?

I think it's a FED 1c with a replaced shutter collar... that's what it seems like to me, the "toilet seat" seems right, no?

I found a magnifier and agree with your suggestion.
Before I couldn't make out if there was a cable socket in the release, but with a magnifier I see there isn't.

Thanks.
