Ulrich,

Thanks for the details again. I remember we discussed them on the forum before, but I forgot the exact details of the box. In any case, I have been in touch with Alex and have been able to buy the box to put my 1958 KNIB into! Not a cheap but, but very nice for my collection!

Regards, Bill

Hello Bill,

they came together, but as Mr. Schulz says, when he bought the box some years ago, there was a normal Kiev IIIa in it. He sold it with a KIIV IIIa to me.
As he has written in an article before, there was only one other seen in 1998, which was sold at the Leica-Shop in Vienna. So, Alex has the third one or the was the guy who bought that one from the Leica-Shop.

Thank you Ulrich ... I knew I saw it somewhere before, and only once. Did the camera and the box come together?

Regards, Bill

I have only seen one other example of this box for the commemorative Ukrainian Kiev. I have never seen another one for sale. While many of us have the camera ... who also has the box?

Regards, Bill

The last bid for the box was $182.50 and reserve price was not met. It makes me wonder...

It is very nice box!!! Of cause it up for grabs for anyone and by courtesy rules of our community I should not disclose if I'll bit on it. To bad box does not have buy it now price. It'll avoid potential artificial price gauging.
