I just saw the sticky asking new members to introduce themselves so here goes.
I'm Garry Way, I am living in Kyiv where I've been the last three years. I was frustrated with the erratic automatic results from my digital camera and decided to try full manual film. On a recent trip to Odessa I bought a Zenit E and am rapidly becoming obsessed with old Soviet cameras. I now have a Chaika 2, two Fed 3's and am searching the markets here for more rarities.

Vlad, i wouldn't say completely. but to find something in reasonable condition takes some searching and good buys disappear fast. although i have to say that i haven't been to the biggest swap yet as i'm usually busy saturday morning

Hi Garry,
Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you will find some good cameras there in Ukraine.

Regards, Bill

Welcome, Garry!

I heard flea markets in Ukraine and elsewere in former USSR are now barren of any decent rarities since they are being actively scoured by resellers on regular basis.. whuld this be an accurate assessment?

Cheers,
Vlad

nice meeting you Garry. Ukrain has some outstanding markets - good way to improve on your bargaining skills :)
