I now have a Pansonic G1 mirrorless m43 camera which will be adapted to accept Contax RF lenses .
An adapter in UK is about £110 plus the cost of the camera .
[ I am not sure if there is an adapter for Sony or Samsung ]
This doubles the effective focal length of the lens - 50 mm becomes 100 mm , whereas with APSc , 50mm becomes 79mm .
My ex-dem Panasonic G1 cost me £280 , not just to use Kiev lenses , but my Leca screw ex USSR lenses and my Rokkors .
I wanted a more compact quality camera , and the ability to explore my Kiev lenses was just too good to pass up .
As I will have a Leica M to Contax RF adapter , I just have to add an M to m43 adapter to it .
This adds another £30 to the outlay .
Adding it all up , it's about £420 which is far from inexpensive , but I did get a fine little everyday point and shoot as well !
It's quite fascinating focusing a collapsible I 22 , an I61/LD or a Jupiter 8 , just like a DSLR , even with an ugly bug I50 rigid , they remain more in proportion , and are considerably lighter than an Slr 50mm .
