I am new to range finders and FEDs so I hope this isn't a silly question.

I was given a lovely FED2 this morning. Everything was fine, I loaded the film and went out and took some photos.

When I came back in I just left the camera on the side. When I next picked the camera up everything is utterly out of focus in the viewfinder. I was wondering if it might be condensation (it was cold outside and hot inside) but it doesn't really look like that and it isn't clearing. I am pretty sure I didn't knock the camera and so I am a bit puzzled.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be the problem?

Best wishes, Kris.

Hi Jean,

you are absolutely right! I wondered what that lever was for. One of the issues of having a camera without a manual.

Many thanks indeed. Now to finish off the test roll. :D

Best wishes, Kris.

Hello Kris,

Check the diopter adjustment lever (under the rewind knob). I bet it's in a wrong position ;)

All the best,
Jean
