I received a Zenit 3, cased and in its box with `00' serial Halio lens. I have quite a few 2nd generation Zenits and a few 1st generations (S, 3m and now 3).
The 3 seems such a nicer camera to operate as does the S. This may be due to the hard life that my 3m seems to have had, but I was wondering if quality was beginning to fade by the late 60s?
The 3M is a very well built camera in my opinion. Especially the winding mechanism despite the fact that it makes a big turn. I can't get used to the single flip up mirror, thats why I prefer the Zenit E. I never worry about the quality of the Russian photogear, they never disappointed me.
My grandfather had a 3, still have the box but the camera is lost somewhere in the attic of my uncle. Never had the S or the Zenit, thats still a remaining mistery for me to discover one day. I have to shovel some camera's out to bring in new ones!
