Hi,

Just bought a Kiev II (export model, 1952) with issues. While working on it I found that old repair attempt - the rangefinder was broken, obviously the repairman didn't own spares so he did this :

Jed, looks funny :-) Does it work? I have found this i a Kiev before, I wondered why the picture was so blurry...

Hi Ulrich,
It does the work ! That repair is the work of a skilled person. But he didn't own spares... The camera comes from St Petersburg.

Incredible! Really, the Contax/Kievs are the best cameras! With a Leica/Fed, no need something is broken in the viewfinder not to see anything. And I know what I say!

I also did that myself. I fixed one with a kind of instant cement. It works.
