I just acquired a Zorki 2 in very nice condition. It has been syncd. with a PC in the base! so it does not stand up very well. With it is an Orion 15 28mm f/6 lens, new to me, is this a useful lens? Rather slow but it may be sharp, will make some negs to find out. Would like some comments on the reputation of this outfit as I am rather new to USSR cameras.

In use, this Orion 15 is a magnificent optic, mainly on outdoor pictures. It gives high contrast and richness of colours. Very interesting that in normal use you need no focusing. Pictures are always sharp. The perspective is very pleasant and strangely covers a wider angle than Japanese retrofocus lenses of the same focal length. Enlargements give excelent definition. I use for slides for richness of colours. I recomend as an universal shooter lens.

Luiz,
what's the minimum distance on these that will make these lens so forgiving. I can't imagine them not needing to be focused in less than 2 meters...

Hello friends,
I would second Luiz - Orion-15 lens is one of my favourite lens. I use it with my beloved Bessa-R camera indeed.
Best Regards,
Aidas

For sun lit scenes You can place distance scale at "3m" fantastic pictures will practically show focus from 0.50m to infinity -at f 11!

Thank you for all the useful comments on my latest acquisition. The Orion has not been tested yet as the local weather has been 10/10ths cloud with sparrows walking! No good at f/6.
