I just received my Zenit Automat.. it looks like takes a weird kind of battery almost like a AAA/AA but shorter in size. What would be the equivalent can I use in USA?

Thanks,
Vlad

Thank you Carter and Zoom, between both your links I've determined the right battery. So I guess originally it was 4 РЦ-53 but I guess I can use a single PX28.

But.. I think I may already have the smaller ones, Zoom - do you know from memory if these РЦ-53 is the same battery that Lomo LC-A takes? I think I got about 50 of those. :) Maybe I can use them.

Thanks,

Vlad.

Tried 4 LC-A batteries, didn't fit... vertically too much space was left and it wouldn't reach the contacts. Then I bought a PX28, camera came to life! I like it! Very smooth and very different than the other Zenits.. can't wait to try it out.

Use a coins... (It is better and authentic to use the Soviet kopecks ;)

Haha! I think finding real kopecks in USA would cost me more than buying this PX28 for $10... and American penny is way too big. [:)]
