I've seen these on eBay as "Spy attachment" what is the real purpose of these weird things?

I think this is one of the first times I've been sellers on eBay use the word "spy" truthfully in their listing. [:)]. It's always "spy" KGB Kiev 30! "spy" KGB FS-12! "spy" KGB VEF Radiola!
