Hello friends,

I've picked up yet another ARFO (it's an ARFO month for me I gues), this time it's an early ARFO-2 with lens and shutter but alas without a back [:)] and no leather on 3 sides. I'm thinking of restoring it too since there isn't any covering on it so I think I want to go a step further and replicate the type of covering that is on it originally. That covering almost looks like a fabric and I think if I'm not mistaken it's a book binding leather since it's very thin. Can anyone recommend where I could get such covering and what kind of glue should I use to mount it - a mounting spray?

Oh yeah and now I guess I'll be looking probably for an ARFO plate to cover the hole in the back this time [:D] as I think the door would be quite hard to find. I think I'll settle for a plate.

Cheers,

Vlad

Ok So I'm finally done with my 2nd ARFO-2 restoration project. Here are some before and after pictures. Wasn't exactly happy with the kind of leather I ended up buying but I worked with what I had.

So here's BEFORE:

I tried to leave some elements "worn" as not to make it too new looking [:)]. But I think another junker saved and can take its proper place on the shelf..

Cheers,
Vlad.

Thank you, Michel, Richard! I'm starting to like this restoration stuff [:)]. As long as I don't have to touch the mechanics hehehe.
